The Calm before the Holidays
It's still early and quiet in the supermarket. I'm in a bit of a hurry when I see a familiar face. It's a former coaching client I helped with finding her balance in Nutrition and Vitality. "Hey! Good morning!"
Eye Drops
When I greet her enthusiastically, I notice she’s looking at me a bit blurry- eyed. She doesn’t recognize me at first, which leads to a funny situation. She explains that she just had eye drops, so her vision isn’t 100% sharp. Ah, that’s why! We laugh about it and, of course, have a little chat. It's so nice to bump into each other spontaneously.
Basket
While talking, I sneak a peek into her basket. I can’t help it. It’s a professional bias. A big smile appears on my face! Seriously, only healthy products! She proudly explains that she's doing really well! A lot has changed since we worked together. Yes, she has found her right balance in what, when, and how much she eats and exercises (and has lost 12 kilos!). Plus, her relationship with food has positively changed, and she is much more relaxed. She beams as we talk about the delicious treats she’s planning for the x-mas holidays.
McDrive
I'm so incredibly proud of her that I feel like giving something back. I tell her that the day before, I 'had lunch' with a large fries from McDonald's. With mayonnaise. Alone in the parking lot. Not secretly, just consciously, and really enjoyed it. That’s exactly what I craved (and besides, my other meals that day were 'in check'). We happily conclude together: ‘This Is How We Do It!’ and say goodbye with a (mental) high five. I’m running late, but I feel really happy. She might not know it, but she definitely already made my day!
